Post Seminar Tour

Gdańsk

Detailed information and schedule of the Post-Seminar Tour will be announced with the confirmation of the approximate number of participants. Please mark your interest in joing the PST in the LEAP registration form. There will be a separate registration for the tour.

The PST will take place from the end of LEAP: Sunday (September 8th) till Tuesday (September 10th) at 19:00. The ending point will be either Łódź or Warsaw, it is to be decided together with participants for their convenience.

The Post-Seminar Tour will take you to the beautiful Northern Poland, which is rich both in its natural beauty and impressive historical sites.

Gdańsk, the biggest city of Northern Poland, more than 1000-years old, will be the main destination of our tour. It is called The City of Freedom: not only was it an independent Free City twice in history, but also here in Gdansk Shipyard 'Solidarity' - the biggest popular movement in the Communist Bloc - was born in 1980 and ultimately led to democratic changes in Poland and other countries.

We will also explore the Old Town of Gdańsk, once the biggest harbour of the Baltic Sea. Still impressing with its architecture, it is now centre of the city's nightlife.

Another highlight of the PST is the largest castle of Medieval Europe - Malbork. This amusing defensive complex, as long as it was used as a fortress, was never captured by hostile forces. It was also a political centre - residence, where the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order ruled his state from.

Nowadays it hosts a museum, which shows both the historical halls used by the Teutonic Knights and some interesting collections of amber and weapons.

Polish coast of the Baltic Sea is also amazing with its natural beauty. Cliffs of Orłowo, the longest wooden pier in the world in Sopot or the narrow Hel Peninsula, where you can meet seals - it is just full of breathtaking views.

The Schengen visa with limited territorial validity (C-type visa valid only in Poland or with validity excluded for a specified Schengen state/states) only entitles the holder to stay in the territory of the state/states for which it is valid.

Visa expiry date

The duration of stay for foreign nationals in Poland in Schengen territory (holders of unified C-type visas) is indicated in the visa (“duration of stay” expressed in numbers); a stay of this kind is only possible during the validity of the visa (“visa valid from….to….”).

Essential documents for Visa
